Inaugurated in the early 1950's, this historical shopping center has remained true to its original design with covered walkways and wooden architecture. The Cambrian Park Plaza Shopping hosts mostly family-owned stores apart from a Dollar Tree store opened in the place of Price Low Foods. Standing right behind the shopping center is the 'old-fashioned' Cambrian Bowl (32 bowling lanes) which has unbeatable prices in the San Jose area ($2.75 Sun-Thu after 9pm). Hacienda Gardens Shopping Center The Hacienda Gardens Shopping Center, located at the corner of Hillsdale Ave. and Meridian Ave. was first opened to business in the early 1960s and grew to be a popular shopping destination for Cambrian Park and Willow Glen residents. The Center was remodeled a few years ago at great expense by a Silicon Valley developer. Union Square Shopping Center This small L-shaped mall (aka Union Plaza in Cambrian Park) is located at the corner of Foxworthy & Union Ave. It is mostly associated with the Cambrian branch of Music Village (reviewed below) and a Radio Shack store. A Tanning & Fitness gym with a personal training studio was opened in 2007. Music Village The Music Village store in Cambrian Park (the other one is located in Santa Teresa off Snell Avenue) is well known to Cambrian residents for the wide selection of brand names for all major instruments (saxophones, trumpets, trombones, clarinets, etc), in new and used condition. The Cambrian store offer the option to rent used instruments to help aspiring musicians decide which brands/model to buy and apply the rental fee towards the purchase of a new instrument.
